What the Wisconsin Public Health Department Needs to Know About Zika
Scott Walker and Public Health Director Dr. Melissa Ochsner are working together to strengthen the Wisconsin public health system.
Walker and Ochschner announced their plans Wednesday at the Walker Health and Human Services Administration office in Madison.
The two are working to strengthen public health and environmental protection and public health infrastructure.
Walker’s office is also working to improve coordination between public health agencies and health care providers.
The Wisconsin Public Heath and Health Institute will be an extension of the Public Health Command in Madison, a department of the governor’s office that will be responsible for public health activities across the state.
Ochseners office is working to increase coordination with the public health departments in the states surrounding the state, including Wisconsin, New York, California and Texas.
