When does flu season start? (Reuters)
The flu season is here and, so far, it’s not going well for many of the world’s most vulnerable populations, according to a new report from the World Health Organization.
In the US, the flu season started in mid-March, and it is expected to last through mid-April.
In Europe, flu season starts in early April and ends in early May, and in Canada, the season starts between late April and early June.
In India, the virus first arrived in the country on March 1, and by late April, the WHO had said that it was the most contagious virus in the world.
India is in the middle of the longest and most intense flu pandemic in modern times, and its worst outbreak occurred in 2009.
Since then, there have been more than 6,000 flu-related deaths in India.
